REACH SEMINAR
Chemsafe Seminar on REACH It was held in Rome on December 2, 2008 at Radisson Hotel near Termini Central Station. The morning session “REACH in various European Countries and the Role of Competent Authorities” gave the opportunity to understand the approach to REACH in different European countries (UK, Belgium, Germany, Spain and Italy). High level of speeches from experts of these countries assured to give a good and full comprehensive picture to delegates. Italian Competent Authority (leaded by Dr. Roberto Binetti and Dr. Graziella Di Marzio) explained to us the way how to apply penalties and inspection scheme in Italy in relation to different REACH requirements. In the afternoon Chemsafe experts and Dr.Gramatica (University of Insubria) talked about “New technical aspect introduced by REACH” including Exposure scenarios, IUCLID 5 and QSAR/in silico evaluations. Last but not least different representatives from four Italian companies illustrated their practical approach to REACH implementation in the session “REACH in different industrial contexts. It was a successful seminar with positive comments from the audience (60 people); this leads us to think to continue in organizing other events in the future years. We take this opportunity to thank all speakers for their availability and their high value lectures and all people who participated to our event.
