Consortium Management
One of the main targets of REACH Regulation (as stated in Article 25.1) is to avoid use of animals for testing.
In order to comply with this requeriment the sharing of data must be done (Article 25.2 on data sharing) between the different members of the same SIEF. The information shared between the parties is restricted to technical data and in particular information related to the intrinsic properties of substances.
Registrants shall refrain from exchanging information concerning their market behaviour, in particular as regards production capacities, production or sales volumes, import volumes or market shares.
One of the legal possibilities to do do so is to create a Consortium, in which all matters regarding data sharing and data compensation will be adressed.
CHEMSAFE can help you with the establishment and management of a Consortium as we have experience in doing so for chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals and recovery substances companies.
We can offer your Company with full Consortium management ranging from identification of potential consortium partners, representation in SIEFs or in any other Consortiums, development of SIEF strategies, drafting preliminary and model Consortium agreements, confidentiality agreements, letters of access, accountancy, classification and labelling, MSDS and e-SDS preparation, etc.
Usually a tipically REACH Consortium will include a structure with a Steering Committee (managing the Consortium), a Technical Committee (advising the Steering Committee) and a Secretariat and membership is open to any applicant fulfilling the membership criteria be European and non-European manufacturer, importer or downstream user.
